redo re-calibrate battery

Here's what one of the developer summed up from all the advices:
1.) Let the battery drain out till the device turns off or there is just 4-5% left indicated
2.) Take out the battery+sim+MicroSD card and wait 30 seconds to 2 minutes
3.) Place it back
4.) Turn on the phone
5.) Plug it in the AC charger
6.) Charge it overnight, once 100% let it charge for 2-3 hours minimum, 8 hours recommended, 12 or more hours for best
7.) Plug out the charger
8.) Turn off the phone
 9.) Wait few seconds
 10.) Put the plug back
11.) If it's charging let it charge until green light+2 minutes. If it's green let it be charged so for extra 2-3 hours
12.) If you have ROOT go to recovery and wipe battery stats.
13.) Reboot 14.) If you had green light turn off and take out battery for 30 seconds - 2 minutes, and wipe stats again. Then charge till 100% again when turned on, and charge till 100% again turned off, then just reboot.
14a.) If you've successfully charged it to 100% and wiped battery stats, try to charge 100% again turned on and again turned off. Just in case. If it's okay continue using the device.
15.) Download Battery Doctor/overcharged and check if the voltage is more then 4150mv. 4197mv is the best = successful. 4150mv-4197mv = quite successful and <4150mv unsuccessful.="unsuccessful.">

So if you really hate your desire's battery life, do all the 15 points. If you're okay with it you can shorten it. These developers really chat a lot as compare to HTCdesireForum
Anyway last night spent to do the first blog method until 2am wake up at 6am to proceed. By 9:30am I thought my sequence is done. Then at 10 am saw this and download overcharged and it is 94% 4084mV I think I have to redo the thorough method tonight while it is for other HTC EVO 4G just would to record it

here as there is another trips from HTC http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712990
I will be happy to go over various setting with you that will help extend the battery life. Traditionally WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and display brightness all greatly impact battery performance. With Android 2.1 another feature that can kill your battery are the Live Wallpapers. If you’re using Live Wallpaper just turn if off.

Adjust the Brightness of the display (Menu | Settings | Sound & Display | Brightness). By default it is set to auto adjust but you can manually adjust it down. Consider adjusting the display timeout (Menu | Settings | Sound & Display | Screen Timeout). The default value is 1 minute but you can reduce it to as low as 15 sec but 30 seconds.
By default your HTC Incredible vibrates every time you press a key. Turn it off by un-checking the box ‘Vibrate when typing’. Menu | Settings | Language & Keyboards | Touch Input | Text Input | Vibrate when typing.
If Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Email, App Updates, or many other things are constantly popping notifications, consider turning some of them off as notifications do impact battery performance; This is done in each app.

To also help with Battery Life you can do these steps exactly:
1) Turn your device ON and Charge the device for 8 hours or more
2) Unplug the device and Turn the phone OFF and charge for 1 hour
3) Unplug the device Turn ON wait 2 minutes and Turn OFF and charge for another hour
Your battery life should almost double, we have tested this on our devices and other agents have seen a major difference as well.
Meanwhile there is another suggestions to do this http://forum.xdadevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=701567
Oh no never ending stories ... but maybe it is for HTC EVO

Preparing...
With the phone in the on position. Fully charge the battery with the phone on... (until the led turns green.) Once the led turns green, unplug the charger until the led goes off. After the led goes off, plug the charger back in. When the led turns green , power off the phone. now.... with the phone fully powered off...
1. Unplug the charger.
2. Wait until led goes off.
3. Plug charger back in until the led turns green. When it turns green, unplug the charger again and go to step 1.
4. repeat steps 1 and 3, 10 times.
This may take anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 mins per cycle.
Typically only about 1 minute. though. DO NOT DRAIN THE BATTERY.
The goal is not to empty the battery and recharge like ni-cads (those have memory, these don't). These are lithiums, so we need to do the opposite...
result is Nice. I just noticed that when I unplugged my phone after a full 100% charge, it would drop to 90% just after browsing the web for 2 minutes. So I tried this method, turned my phone back on, unplugged and browsed the web for 2 minutes. Still at 100%.

Last but not least it is this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=701567&page=5

On Saturday night at around 11:30pm I just had my evo charged fully to a 100% and while researching this site I found out while on the dialing keypad if you type *#*#4636#*#* it gets you to the Testing menu. Then I selected "Phone Information" and scroll down to "Set preferred network type" and open that menu and found my setting to be at (CDMA auto (PRL) I then noticed thta there is an option for "CDMA Only" and decided to change my Evo to that setting and press home after which confirmed that it stayed at that setting. After that I went ot sleep and woke in the morning at around 6am because I had to pick someone at the airport and looked at the phone and to my surprise it was sitting at approximately 97% after 5 hours on standby. That was interesting The ping test works too

(one year later I saw an review during GPS optimiser, which stated that
*#*#1472365#*#* will help to configure Samsung II tab but it does not work on viewpad7)

Install on SD card

The day when I install Angry Bird I notice it can be transfer to be install on SD card

Today I learn there is a applications known as App 2 SD
which can scan for application that can be run from SD card

Actually there are few similar applications

Today I did not use much of HTC
so at 9:45pm
the up time is 20:31
Awake is 5:01:24
the battery only half mark

It charge until 1am  the light is still amber

So I can battery charging strategy and charge it
suddenly at 1:05am the LED turn green.

the uptime is 23:55
Awake time is 6:00
Then I switch off to power off to sleep

the power of control

Tonight I spent 2 hours to fill up the GM FM form.pdf
I learn how to edit the form entry field
and insert digitized signature
But then hinder me to insert photo.
which again I spent some time to edit my portrait to right size
and insert as a stamp mark !

After I finished, it was already 11pm and rush home.

Today I received reply from HTC
5. How to track the total incoming/outgoing call time log?
The phone itself does not support this function but you can search the market with call summary for some apps to realize this function

I suddenly realize why i like Android hp or this HTC hp

It give you the freedom to control the way your hp works

I  like the power widget to be able to turn off WiFi, bluetooth etc

So if the application can not perform the job, then find from the Android market

Of course John proudly show his N8 to be able to kill all application with few touches.

I still struggle and maybe will download killer application for trial soon.

Finally got outlook contact over HTC

In the morning, I download Adv phone log and it works
to display call timers
but too bad can not seem to able to output data

I take a while again that there are different version of contacts or people widget

In the evening, I tried to migrate the outlook data over.

Same thing, I have to remove the LAN cable to allow HTC sense to run.
Surprisely, after that HTC sense continue to run by then LAN cable is connected to the laptop
(This is better than OVI)
However, HTC sense will clash once under Help>update is activated.

Seem that HTC sense conflict with proxy or antivirus ?

Anyway, I clear and upload the contact in the Exchange server
Then I do a USB sync
All 974 contacts transfer over HTC include all Chinese Characters and all mobile and fax in the right field

Although Google contact fails to sync with HTC

But today is a great leap to migrate all contacts over HTC
will try MyPhone Explorer another day

Later at night I download an eBook and Angry Bird

Power maintenance

Today I stress my hp again

It take me a while to find the battery under About Phone sub menu

The Up time is about 6hr (or 5Hr 15min)
Awake time is 3hr

The hp drain off at 11:15

suddenly I was searching for font size
Also I wonder why Google Chrome dun have a version for Android

on 13 dec night at 2348

the up time is 22:45
awake time is 11:37:57

The hp drain off at 00:29

I learn there is two build in applications Battery Use and Battery Status
Under Setting > About phone > Battery Status
and those on top are the values registered for past three days

While Battery use seem to show the application that drain the most battery ?
It will show when battery low triggle a screen and option to choose Battery Use
I turn on all and it will show
Cell standby, android system, phone idle, display, bluetooth, WiFi

Or it should be the Applications that are running

Settings>Applications>Manage Applications

Settings>Applications>Running Services

So all these seem not appropriate to demonstrate the right status of the Android power status

I still need to explore more

HTC my first system update 2.13.707.2

I was being prompt for my first system update 2.13.707.2 in the morning

But later I dun know where is the upgrade until I saw the website
http://www.htc.com/www/howto.aspx?id=804&type=1&p_id=312

I activate the upgrading and update is done

This is just for recording purpose

But would advice HTC to teach other green horn like me on such upgrading

As for SingTel, similarly it push AMPED application to me on second day and install on my Desire
Not problem for that

Today as I try to use WiFi and surf  e-IDEA website and was being blocked
Dun quite like the idea to push to use SingTel data services even though it is business wise

re-calibrate battery

today I went out since noon.

I use extensively to demo Desire to my friend

Battery run out very fast, so
I went to look for bluetooth keyboard.
I did make use the chance to charge a little bit

But as I rush home, I did try to shut down some of applications to save.

Just nice the hp completely shutdown

as I charge I read about calibrate the battery
In English ..

1. Power on your Desire then connect to your Charger and Fully charge until the LED changes Green.
2. Disconnect your phone from the charger and then power off.
3. Reconnect your phone to your charger with the power off and wait for the green LED.
4. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.
5. Once the phone has fully booted / ready to use ...  power off again.
6. With the power off connect the phone to the charger and wait for the green LED.
7. Disconnect from the Charger then power on and use normally.

But I dun understand and use back my old method as in the last post
to do drain off and fully charge exercise

I also read further on App killer does not help in saving battery power

But I more concern how  to solve the max number of browser that occur few times today ...

On last satursday 4 Dec, Tim and Tin went for two HTC seminars (WM7 and Android 2.2 )
We have gained few vouchers ($50/$100 and maybe we can sell online)

Of which I made use of one $100 vouchers together with singtelshop.com
and buy at 9pm-pam period to gain $30 deduction
(PLEASE WATCH OUT EVERY WEDNESDAY 11AM-2PM FOR FREE HP ON SINGTELSHOP.COM !!)

At the end, I paid $218

At the expense of 24 mth change from i-one plus (w/o data $25) to 3G Flex lite (12G $36)
and have to wait until wednesday 2-5pm to deliver on my office.

I will go Toa Payoh to sell my Nokia E72 for 250 (without box)
So this time, I spent zero dollar and gain some. [Best senario !! ]

But I will spend nett gain of $ 32 on black casing and maybe usb
keyboard casing...

PS: there is always a $100 charge for my only 12 month contract
and some increase as I move to 3G Flexi plan
[Please also take note There is a super SIM plan to get additioanl number without contract]
(If I go singtel hello shop I need to spend net additional $100 for this HTC desire as no voucher )
(To purchase HTC desire Z and desire HD I need to spend $100/$200 even
depending where I purchased as it is the latest models)

I have everything except hopefull HTC will port HTCsense.com on existing Desire HD/Z
to be available to Desire too in coming month
