My THL W1 screen cracked

Last night I was at punggol drive

I know there is a remote coffee shop some way

I was hungry and low spirit 

As I come out of car

maybe a car dash by

I was so careless and mindless

But at 8:08pm on 25 Jan 2013

I drop my mobile

My hp's protective cover came out and the screen drop face up

But the fact is when I pick it up

The screen was cracked diagonally acrossed

The voice of YS and Eric 

chanting "SN never take care of hp ..."

My heart also got a crack run diagonally acrossed

My THL W1 single core

is another hp that I liked after Nokia E72

I did not manage to re-sale it off

I thought of keeping it as permanent backup hp

Guess it is time to buy another hp

It took three days

I think it is a 100Mbps package

But it can only guranttee 15 Mbps at peak/non peak hours
(very similar to Starhub and M1)

I finally brought a PC

It is a nettop or mini-PC

I only complaint to him I need it for write CV

he end up with a price at $420

With that price I can get a second hand laptop

but it is a brand new PC with Intel i3 CPU

I still can re-used my keyboard and monitor etc

So I was being asked to go down to redraw money

It take him 1 hour plus to DIY the nettop

So it is also back in old days that 

I saw and assist him to 

build the hardware and 

install the software

Later I am more than satisfied with the performance 

of this new PC but wondering why

this trend of PC did not pick up (or being ignore)

Nettop seem to be less famous then

Cleaning up SD and SD2

There is still many confusion about
Internal and External SD

The easiest way to view both is look at windows explorer
and set hp to connect as media device
so clear you can view THL
as
SD card and USB storage
From linux file manager under \mnt directory as
sdcard2 and sdcard respectively

This THL of calling is most proper
as object to reserve the name SD card to External removable SD card

Anyway, I have relocate some of the files from each app
expecially Titanium backup (under preference -> backup folder option
and move backup to USB storage

unless next time there is proper way of installation

In theory, I can install titanium and move whole app via app2SD
and then titanium would auto have point the backup to Ext SD card

This blog is just to remember that I have manage to clear the system app
inside the Internal USB storage to 1.61 Mb in size

The other program move are those whatsapp screenshot files

Later going to reduce further as clear up those baidu prog etc

Then maybe after tonight titanium backup then save as a update.zip for system app backup

7. after opening odin you'll see the device has been connected.

8.now click on OPS and locate cooper.ops

9. after that click on one package and locate the .md5 file.

10. check that 'protect ops' and 'auto reboot' are checked.

11. now click on start button and wait untill rebooting.

TL-WR720N and HuaWei dongles

TL-WR720N was bought in China at about 120 RMB

The first thing to configure is to connect UTP to TL-WR720N

There are three modes router, 3G , AP

1. Safetest mode is to put to router mode
connect UTP to the LAN port (again avoid LAN/WAN port)

run a browser to conect via http://192.168.1.253

2. set up the wifi option under 无线设置
put a wifi password
Check the wifi server working ok or not

3. set to 3G mode and remove the UTP and connect via wifi

4. Set up the 3G

For all Singapore telco , turn of China telco and maually set

Few setting you require

I. Dial codes
there are three options
a. *99***1#
b. *99#
c. *777#

The first one a. is to one work with M1 unlimited dial up prepaid dial up plan
as given by staff at M1 paradgon shopping center

The second is the code given by hot line

II. APN is sunsurf

III. userid is 65

IV. password user123 but we used 65 again

So all in all, the setting work is
dial code *9***1#
APN sunsurf
userid 65
password 65

A. Dongle

There are various dongles

A. I have tried with 3556-Z

Z refer to ZTE

and it failed badly

B. The staff at paradgon has tested latest E303 and it work (even though it is not in list)

C. We have another E153 and it is in the list and works

Last but not least is the sequence of connection (simultate manually)

1. Under TP configuration and status menu, TP will try to recognize the dongle

some of the model may need .bin to allow to be recognize

when recognize

the configuration status flash few times

the confirm  is when

and the bar even show a colour code bar on the signal strength

Then it will try to dial

(If not need to configure to auto dial or connect under one of menu)

so part I,II,III, IV play a part

If connected then there will be ip address and DNS show 

If not please check setting and power on/off router

so with the right dongle, just need to put the SIM card and it will auto connect to Internet
