1. Open up ADB shell within a terminal.
 2. Get the list of partitions: cat /proc/mtd
3. Pull each original partition from the device onto the SD card: cat /dev/mtd/mtd3 > /sdcard/recovery.img (example...change for each partition)


Install Alternative Recovery Partition:
1. Copy the flash_image and clockwork recovery image to your SD Card (Find Attached Below). 
2. Open a terminal (via computer or terminal emulator). Enter ADB shell. 
3. Within ADB shell enter the following to change permissions for the flash_image: chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image 
4. Replace the original stock recovery image by copying the clockwork image in it's place: flash_image recovery /sdcard/cwrecovery.img
  [I do a su command infront together with the command still to solve the following error

error writing recovery: Permission denied]

Installing Custom Firmware:
1. Copy the custom firmware of your choice to the SD card. 
2. Power down your device. 
3. Depress both volume keys simultaneously followed by holding in the power switch for a few seconds. 
4. Upon power up you will see the birds logo and 'enter recovery' text in the top left corner of the screen. 
5. Use the volume keys to step through the menu. 
6. Select 'Backup & Restore' followed by 'Backup' to make a 'NANDROID' backup of the current firmware. The backed up ROM should be located in: /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/date&time/
  7. Once the backup process completes you will be back at the main recovery menu.
  8. Select 'apply sdcard: update.zip.
  9. Once complete select 'reboot device'.

Steps:
 1. Make sure your devices is rooted.. if not get SuperOneClickv1.5.5 and follow this guide Download:
2. Clockwork recovery 2.5.1.2 copy it to the root of your sdcard..( /sdcard/cwrecovery.img ) Download:
3. flash_image.zip unzip it and copy it to the root of your sdcard..( /sdcard/flash_image )
 4. Run Terminal Emulator (make sure you hold it in portrait position)
 type: su press "enter" then type the following to copy the flash_image to
system/bin cp /sdcard/flash_image /system/bin press "enter" Install flash_image
Run Terminal Emulator
type: su press "enter"
then type: chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image press "enter"
 Backup your stock recovery:
First check your recovery partition.. su cat /proc/mtd From there you'll see the recovery partition..

Turn off your devices..when its finally switch off..hold down both vol+ and vol- and at the same time press the power button..
you will be booting in Clockwork recovery mode..
 Choose Backup/Restore from the option.
.this will take some time..once finish making backup..choose Reboot..check your backup in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup//
 Download: Busybox 1.17.2 included with script to install..unzip it and copy the busybox and the install script to root of sdcard.. 
Install Using ADB:Working on windows only with adb inside the cdrom..

Yestersday I was able to run Link2SD on blanked 2G SD card Today I was too haste and try to move partition on existing 16Gb SD card (that I force shutdown during fdisk) it still can be accessible but not recognize by link2SD So mission suspend and need to plan for the migration or have to wait to buy another 32 Gb SD card during june PC Show There are few things to prepare as viewpad go for second factory reset again 1. The Access Point Names for Singtel brief as APN = e-ideas Username = 65ideas password = 65ideas (without APN the USB tethering will connect but fails to login) 2. Few app need to download first eg link2SD app2SD but problem is update for Maps, Gmail etc will auto download and it is unstoppable 3. The USB connect with PC may need to reset So best way is to reset the PC then Un-install the viewpad PC tool but plug out and plug in the USB The RUT ADB driver will auto install (please remember to press next button) 4. I may need a copy of ubuntu CD to the two partitions on SD card So I will continue blog on process of link2SD trial process

Phone memory back to small space

Although different App2SD report different app that left in Phone memory I was again force to clear some of the app but few of them do me some problem as expected For example, MPE client can only be seem by System App Mgr and I move it to SD It work in general however, under the simple phone status The charging status disappear and the USB tethering network seem affected and slow down But I can not prove yet so just to keep as a record

AntTek Application Manager

After root, there are few apps that I can use I have tried out AntTek today as even after root, System App Mgr can uninstall update for Aldiko and gmail but can not totally remove them so when I saw AntTek with delete option I hesitate and try For Aldiko, System said it still got 660Mb on PM After delete, the App2SD clear up 440Mb memory BTW, after install either AntTek, Titanium, Link2SD etc App2SD only show five app on PM Maps, Market, Youtube Bluetooth toggle widget and Retro clock (Later it seem the work of Move2SD Enabler) (Later InforFile App2SD do show/register last two app and system App mgr also show these two are hardcore not able to move to SD) Many others have been hidden are MPE, iLock, AL II,Lost phone, hotmail etc It seem that I install too many powerful apps last night that I have to explore slowly Last of all, last night or this morning in order to install those apps I have to uninstall Aldiko to install those apps below AntTek App Manager Root0.97 164.62 KB Today, 10:02 ROM Manager4.2.0.2 1.77 MB Today, 09:51 Titanium Backup 2.07 MB Today, 09:21 3:08:00 AM Move2SD Enabler 0.9.6 beta 74.61 KB Today, 02:06 Root System Tool Free 368.07 KB Today, 02:03 3:04:06 AM Link2SD 138.14 KB Today, 01:54 The amount of PM last night the max 30Mb down to 25Mb today So this blog is to record the process On the latter date, I check on one of the app hotmail that not shown on App2SD I clear the clache of 32 kb and move it to SD now the PM show there is on 8kb but no longer register under APP2SD Luckily, App2SD by infofile is ok It is rather confusing, so I may write a separate blog
