Singtel e-ideas SMS/MMS portal

As I transfer SIM to my ShanZai hp few thing I find out I was lucky to bounce into Singtel e-ideas SMS/MMS portal Initially, I used the old Internet SMS for me to send message last time when I using those numeric pad keyboard. http://sms.singtel.com/internetsms/ Even when I got E65/E72 I still like to use that services But later I dun like as 1) Internet SMS can only SMS to singtel customers only 2) It send a long initial message to recipent It can not send to China telco too but I can use it to send SMS while I am in China and receive on my hp Recent, I have been trying with Singtel SMS plus services but none seem to be very appealing By chance, I spot this Internet SMS platform on E-ideas It solve my last two problems above Just I also set to a password that is easy to remember than Singtel numeric reset password given (If not, just call *43327 and you can reset the password immediately) I dun know why they are still keeping the old system But I hope to see more E-ideas services that being offer One word of advice is to lower the eXplorer services as SingTel should charge the business owner rather than the consumer SingTel will only able to beat Starhub if only it can offer better content and services to its subscribers

Rooting the Viewpad 7

I thought of waiting for another month before I root my viewpad especially now I have load 80 app in SD and I got another ShanZai hp for me to call How after loading few more app, the phone memory refuse to reduce down from 15Mb
I have no more big app in Phone memory to delete even those 1Mb app that has been delete there is seem few app in SD will occupy those phone memory once I clear some memory
So this weekend, I am going to root viewpad and load other ROM But now here is the homework done

 By rooting your device, it will make you enable to install thousands of apps which require root access to work. Now, you can root Viewsonic Viewpad 7 using SuperOneClick.
 In this post, I will give you the method of how to root your Viewsonic Viewpad 7 using SuperOneClick. This method is coming from XDA Developer forum member lakehousetech, who give us step-by-step instructions to root using SuperOneClick.
If you are willing to do the steps, then you must do that on your own risk.
1. Download the latest version of SuperOneClick here
2. Extract the content of the zip file to your computer
3. Enable USB Debugging
4. Connect your tab to your PC via USB
5. Right-click the SuperOneClick
6. Click ‘Run as Administrator’
7. In SuperOneClick, select the ‘rageagainstthecage’ radio button and click ‘Root’.
8. Wait until you see ‘Running rageagainstthecage…’
9. Disconnect your tab from PC, then reconnect it
10. ADB reset, and say ‘waiting for device’ after you get a rootingsuccessful prompt
11. Your device is successfully rooted
12. Follow the verifications instructions

Flashing ClockworkMod Recovery Steps: Make sure your devices is rooted.. if not get SuperOneClickv1.5.5 and follow this guide
 Download: Clockwork recovery 2.5.1.2 copy it to the root of your sdcard..( /sdcard/cwrecovery.img ) Download: flash_image.zip unzip it and copy it to the root of your sdcard..( /sdcard/flash_image )
 Run Terminal Emulator (make sure you hold it in portrait position)
type: su press "enter" then type the following to copy the flash_image to system/bin
cp /sdcard/flash_image /system/bin press "enter"
Install flash_image
Run Terminal Emulator type: su press "enter" then
type: chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image press "enter"
Backup your stock recovery:
First check your recovery partition.. su cat /proc/mtd
From there you'll see the recovery partition..
To backup the recovery.. cat /dev/mtd/mtd3 > /sdcard/orirecovery.img
Flashing the Clockwork recovery
Run Terminal Emulator type: su press "enter"
then type: flash_image recovery /sdcard/cwrecovery.img press "enter"
In case you want to restore your recovery..
flash_image recovery /sdcard/orirecovery.img
Backing up your rom image
Turn off your devices..when its finally switch off..hold down both vol+ and vol- and at the same time press the powerbutton..you will be booting in Clockwork recovery mode..
Choose Backup/Restore from the option..this will take some time..
once finish making backup..choose Reboot..
check your backup in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup// 
Download: Busybox 1.17.2 included with script to install..
unzip it and copy the busybox and the install script to root of sdcard.. 
Install Using ADB: Working on windows only with adb inside the cdrom.. 
Run adb shell su cd /sdcard sh ./installbusybox.sh Install using 
Terminal Emulator: su the run the command inside the script, manually, line by line.. Update:27/Nov Changes: Fix Power Button to always enabled : Home button toggle display :Back button go back Bug : Double key input still there (Volume - & +)remedy.. hold it to highlight a line,release it to highlight next line..

 I have the original dumps, as well as an update.zip that will install the stock firmware via CW recovery. 
If you don't have CW recovery installed you may be able to do a factory recovery: 
Hold down both volume keys. Press the reset button. 
Quickly hold down the power button until you see the birds and 'enter recovery' at the top left hand corner. Try recovering from the menu.

you should try "wipe data\factory set".

China ShanZai Android HP

Last Saturday, I went to Sim Lim Sq for window shopping again
 I got a call from Eric and I have to rush back AMK
 Then something caught my eyes It is not the pretty gal but she selling China Android ShanZai HP
 Remember my last blog on a N8 body phone with 12M camera and one thing it fall short is Android OS !! She said this Android hp just came this week (later the other gal said the same)
This is running on Android 2.2 !
 It pack with lot of app most of all it got market installed (She said original OS will come with market while other will not ...)
The internal memory still got 252 MB (Initially I mistaken as 2 GB!)
 It has different forms but the common that I seen at both booth has a iphone type body as they claim to be the fastest screen response
 It has only 3.5" screen and one big menu button too bad it seem not able to use as up down navigation Then it has four standard android option hard keys
 It beat Hua Wei S7 as it got double SIM cards The other thing it got another TV antenna but I mistaken as styllus which I more prefer
 As for camera I think it should be only 3M only
 The OS seem to be tweet to have SIM A & B call then it got schedule power shutdown and up option
 It has tethering but too bad it is only USB option only
 The first booth offer at SGD 260, the second first quote at SGD 230
Still too expensive then Hua Wei S7 offer at IT show at SGD 188
 Then I met with Eric and told him about it
Eric show me his another latest ShanZai phone and only cost him half the price
But of course, the other story is that the new phone bundle with China SIM card
Anyway Eric offer to give me his old ShanZai HP
 So later I told John Min not to purchase Lenovo LePad before he fly to TianJin on Monday
 Anyway I got the old ShanZai phone on Monday night
 It is very bad but it is free Eric even give me four batteries that he has invest in it
 The SIM card B is buried below SIM card A
which I find it is not good if I only used one card
 It is using proprietary USB slot on the hp and connection is bad
but it read out incoming call numbers which is unique but disturbing
 Seem that I need to bear with it until I find a way to buy a ShanZai Android HP

system app at boot up

Last night try to config few android during boot up. Some success and some failure As the full objective are not completed yet I have remove [battery status bar] as it run on PM I put in [battery details] as thought can be run on SD but fail Then I realised the first principle of Android 2.2 As Android boot up Viewpad 7 has the "advantage" of slow start up you will see those apps in SD will available later with their own icon So those app need to be in the startup list must be in the PM !! but how [call meter NG] able to do the job well ? I have put the [3G watchdog] out too but I should have export the data first If I got space again, I will consider to bring back the wonder dog Then I need to reinstall [ZDbox] and [Android Assistant] [ZDbox] just update at the same time It act the battery status and active app but I use it to show active app as it the only app that can do it It will be tracking the 3G usage but may not accurate as 3G watchdog has been monitoring it and it show I have used up 1.2G during these 5 day It can also mute my hp at midnight ... will check it is work later i later try private browser and it can edit blog in html mode under IE mode [Android Assistant] does not auto start even on PM It has the features of "msconfig" - to control the startup list but it does not seem working - so wait for the update at present, I run ZDbox after boot up and app seem to be about 10 apps then run battery details and maybe Android Assistant will come in handy later
